At last, a full summer on the boat! We spent the winter planning and discussing, and decided that after two wet seasons in Scotland, we were ready to head South and find some sun. We had no great desire to sail to the south of England on route, so decided to head across the Irish sea to Kinsale, Ireland and point Yarona due South across Biscay. We would sail down the Atlantic Coast of Portugal, then head east to Gibraltar and into the Med. After a few weeks exploring the Balearics the plan was to continue via Sardinia and end up at Fiumicino near Rome.
And that’s what we did!
We had a few adventures and scary moments but no major disasters, and had old friends sail with us and made new friends on route.
